Light microscopy

Light microscopy

This technology is used to study fibres and cross-sections and surfaces of end products. Stains and impurities in pulp and paper, microorganisms and deposits can also be studied. Optical microscopy is often used in connection with product development, troubleshooting and support for end customers.

Diffrent kinds of order:

Fiber composition, fiber identification, fiber damage, fiber studies
Cross section – studies in z-direction
Distribution of starch, OBA, ink in z-direction
Deposits
Microorganisms
Size Measurements
Surfaces and print quality
Vascular Cells
Fiber wall thickness
Coating thickness, fold cracking

Types of samples: Pulp / Paper / Cardboard, Scrap, Dots, Rubber Dust, Printed Finished Product, Solutions, Enclosures.

Recommendations for sampling:

Disassemble the jar during sampling
Do not mark too close to the defect / problem
Detachment is performed on MoRe
Send references
- Process and functional chemicals / materials
- Good reference test to compare with problem / bad test
